Marc Kudisch Conquers NYCO as the Pirate King!

The borrowing of Broadway talent for the uber-legit stages of opera has been happening quite a bit the past few seasons. And with very happy results! Indeed, that was the case with busy Broadway star Marc Kudisch, who was just finishing up his starring stint in The Apple Tree at Studio 54 as he began the limited-run (through March 31) of the New York City Opera's production of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Pirates of Penzance. With the twice Tony-nominated Kudisch playing the Pirate King, along with the talented Mark Jacoby (Sweeney Todd) as the Major General, we simply had to stop by the opening night on March 15 to congratulate the guys. Turns out, we weren't the only folk from Broadway taking a seat at the New York State Theater. Click on to see who else was there!
