Medea Makes a Killing on Broadway

It's pretty safe to say that Deborah Warner's electrifying production of Euripedes' Medea made a killing when it opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on December 10 after a brief national tour. First of all, the brutality of the script is definitely intact, offering a truly terrifying vision of the story of a scorned woman who takes revenge on her lover by murdering their children (yes, onstage!). But the classic script seems ready to make a killing at the box office with this new production, which has already become a favorite of critics thanks to the Tony-worthy work by Fiona Shaw in the title role. We met up with Shaw and her talented co-stars at the opening night bash at Sardi's!
