The big rehearsal room of Manhattan's New 42nd Street Studios was bustling with energy on the morning of September 18 as star Hank Azaria (
Spamalot), director Des McAnuff (
Jersey Boys) and writer Aaron Sorkin (
The West Wing) gathered to present their impressive company of
The Farnsworth Invention to the media for the first time. The play, which is the first Sorkin work to be produced in New York (and by Steven Spielberg, no less) since the multi-Emmy Award winner got his Broadway break in 1989 with
A Few Good Men, is based on the fascinating real life struggle between the two men who claimed they invented television. Boasting a cast of 22 actors,
The Farnsworth Invention begins previews at the Music Box on October 15. Until then, check them out here.
