Tony Award winner Idina Menzel's been busy on the other coast working on the film version of Rent over the last month or so, but found herself back in New York City last week for some exterior East Village shoots for the fall movie release. During her downtime, she was sure to head up to the Imperial Theatre to see Wicked co-star Norbert Leo Butz's Tony buzz-worthy work in the new musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. There were connections galore in the group of young musical theater stars we ran into backstage. Menzel and hubby Taye Diggs (also working on the Rent flick) reunited on the Broadway stage last season when he stepped in as Fiyero when Butz took a leave from Wicked.
