The original Broadway cast of 1981's Merrily We Roll Along were back together again on Monday night looking like they had never parted ways 21 years ago. The cast (whose ages ranged from 15 and 25 when the show first opened)--including Jason Alexander, Ann Morrison, Lonny Price and Jim Walton--performed an electrifyingly emotional and poignant concert version of Stephen Sondheim's score, and featured some original choreography and costumes. Even Sondheim and original director Harold Prince joined the cast on stage for sentimental hugs. Put together by cast member Lonny Price, the reunion concert raised over $200,000 for Musical Theatre Works. Just like "old friends," they partied the night away in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center where they had more time to eat, drink, and be "merry."
