Pacific Overtures opened at Broadway's Studio 54 on December 2. The musical revival by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman. Pacific Overtures tells the history of Japan, from Commodore Perry's expedition to "Nippon" in 1853 to the country's rise as a powerful economic force. This production, directed by Amon Miyamoto, stars B.D. Wong and a talented cast of stage vets and newbies. After the opening night performance, the company headed to swanky Guastavino's to celebrate.
