Publicist Extraordinaire Irene Gandy Gets Her Very Own Sardi’s Caricature

It’s a rare honor to receive a caricature at Sardi’s, and even rarer for a behind-the-scenes theatrical pro to be immortalized in the hallowed eatery. But Irene Gandy is truly one of a kind! A pioneering African-American publicist with 40 years in the Broadway community, she’s known for her unique wardrobe of hats, bejeweled glasses, oversized earrings and Louis Vuitton bags. Beyond her sartorial splendor, Gandy is a smart, hard-working pro, repping shows such as Speed-the-Plow and August: Osage County with energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love for the theater. In honor of the Gandy’s 65th birthday, her friends at Sardi’s gave her the ultimate accolade at a festive party on November 18: a caricature of her very own. Click on and share the celebration!
