Some theater folks decided that they wanted to work behind-the-scenes and stay out of the spotlight. But the Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Achievement in Commercial Theatre Producing makes sure--at least once a year-- that a producer experiences what the other side of the stage feels like. This year's award was given to David Binder on October 25. He is a graduate from the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) and producer of the revival of A Raisin in the Sun, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and De La Guarda. The event was held at the swanky American Airlines Theatre's Penthouse Lounge.
