Star Understudies Take Center Stage
For a special Broadway Spotlight night, we decided to turn the attention on Broadway's hard-working standbys and understudies. Hosted by Seth Rudetsky, the evening featured stunning star turns by Catherine Brunell (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Natascia Diaz (Man of La Mancha), Katy Grenfell (Hairspray), Leslie Kritzer (Kennedy Center's Tell Me on a Sunday) Aaron Lazar and Elizabeth Loyacano (Oklahoma!), Darcie Roberts (Aida), Jimmy Smagula (Man of La Mancha) and Schele Williams (Aida). The evening, which was sponsored by Broadway.com and held at Ars Nova Theatre, was a rousing success and is destined to become a regular part of the Spotlight<
