It was hard not to "hear the people sing" on August 8, when the magic of Broadway took Los Angeles by storm during the highly anticipated opening of
Les Miserables. Produced as part of the annual Hollywood Bowl, the show featured Broadway faves Brian Stokes Mitchell, John Lloyd Young, Lea Michele and J. Mark McVey, as well as a bevy of revolution-worthy talents (including
The Office star Melora Hardin), in a staged concert supported by the Hollywood Bowl's sprawling orchestra. As thousands of fans cheered (and we mean thousands), the cast took their first bows, effectively ending the whirlwind weeks of rehearsal and beginning the three-day stretch of packed performances.
