Sweeney Todd Goes On the Record
The multitalented cast of Sweeney Todd spent their day off at Midtown's Avatar Studios on November 14. The actors are also the musicians in this unique production, which was directed by John Doyle. Composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim was on hand to watch and listen as stars Michael Cerveris, Patti LuPone and the rest of the cast sang and played their hearts out for the recording on the Nonesuch label. We're not sure if their lunch break included any meat pies, but we are sure that they sounded splendid!
