Katharine Hepburn is back on the New York stage, in a manner of speaking. March 9 marked the opening of Matthew Lombardo's Tea at Five, a bio-play that stars Kate Mulgrew as the Hollywood legend. Mulgrew plays Hepburn in two different periods of her career: 1938, following a string of Hollywood flops, and 1983, well after people had started referring to as “Kate the Great.” After such a tour-de-force performance onstage at the Promenade Theatre, it is no wonder the star needed to relax.
