The Songs of Mary Rodgers Soar Once More at Music-Theatre Group Gala

When you're the daughter of Richard Rodgers and the mother of Adam Guettel, musical theater is more than a family business, it's something in your blood. Indeed, as the composer of that crowd pleaser Once Upon a Mattress, Mary Rodgers was honored for her contributions on Monday, October 23rd, by the 35-year old Music-Theatre Group— which fosters the development and producing of new music-theater pieces—in a special gala evening at Manhattan Penthouse (80 Fifth Avenue). In a revue entitled Hey Love: The Songs of Mary Rodgers, Tony winners Donna Murphy and Faith Prince, as well as Sally Mayes, Jim Walton and director/performer Mark Waldrop wowed the crowd. Check it out.
