Tommy Tune Opens Little Shubert In White Tie
There was a time when director/choreographer Tommy Tune ruled Broadway and seemed to be the annual winner of a Tony Award. These days, Tune is best known for his Las Vegas run in EFX as theater fans wait to see which new musical he will bring to the New York stage. Perhaps White Tie and Tails, a cabaret-style show, isn't quite what fans of his directorial work in shows like Nine, Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies were waiting for, but it's still good to see the legend back on his feet. And it's especially nice to see the opening of the Little Shubert, a brand spanking new venue owned by the legendary theatrical family. We met up with Tune and the Shubert guys at an opening night bash on December 18 at Raphael's Church near the theater.
