Urban Cowboy Saddles Up for B'way
Based on the John Travolta/Debra Winger of the same name, Urban Cowboy is gearing up for its long-awaited Broadway birth. The show will start performances at the Broadhurst Theatre on Friday, February 27, featuring two newcomers in the star-making roles of Bud and Sissy--Matt Cavenaugh and Jenn Colella. Broadway.com caught up with these two young'uns (as well as director Lonny Price and the rest of the talented cast) at a special sneak peek for members of the press on February 13. The show promises to be (to quote press materials) "a line-dancin', fine-romancin', heart-breakin', boot-scootin', raw-hidin' good time!"
