From the Tony Award-winning author of
M. Butterfly, the Public Theater hosted the New York premiere of David Henry Hwang's
Yellow Face on Monday, December 10—Hwang's autobiographical play about a middle-aged Asian-American playwright's identity crisis and how it impacts his personal and professional life. In a production directed by
Well's Leigh Silverman, the show features an outstanding cast that includes rising heartthrob Noah Bean,
Thoroughly Modern Millie's Francis Jue,
Golden Child's Julienne Hanzelka Kim,
Pacific Overtures' Hoon Lee,
Henry IV's Lucas Caleb Rooney, Kathyrn Layng (Mrs. David Henry Hwang) and downtown actor (and son of Rip!) Tony Torn. After the opening night curtain calls we caught the post-show scene. Check it out.
