Moon Over Broadway, Kevin Spacey & Eve Best Open Misbegotten
Courtesy of London's Old Vic, where American Beauty Oscar winner Kevin Spacey is artistic director, the acclaimed revival of Eugene O'Neill's drama A Moon for the Misbegotten successfully crossed the pond on April 9, opening at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway. Starring Spacey and Eve Best in the iconic roles of James Tyrone Jr. and Josie Hogan, respectively, the production was directed by Howard Davies, who in fact guided Spacey the last time the Tony Award-winning star appeared on Broadway in another O'Neill classic, The Iceman Cometh in 1999. After the opening night bows, the company joined their glamorous guests—including movie stars Matt Dillon, Aaron Eckhart, Patrick Swayze and Billy Crudup—for a celebration at 230 Fifth Ave. in the Flatiron district.
