"Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies from the 80s, so I was excited, but also a little concerned about how it would present on stage. It did NOT disappoint! The special effects were some of the best I've ever seen at a Broadway show. The actors were incredible. Casey Likes was the most incredible Marty McFly - he nailed this role! Roger Bart was not playing Doc Brown that night, it was played by Blakeley Slaybaugh who was beyond amazing. I can't imagine the other actor being better at that role! The actors playing George McFly and Biff Tannen were fabulous as well. Loved the music - both from the orginal movie as well as the new songs. It was hard to sit still! I would warn parents who have kids with sensory issues that this may not be for them. There were a lot of flashing lights and loud noises. This was such a fantastic show! I highly recommend it."

"I loved this show. You can stop reading there and take my word for it that it is an incredible show you must see, or skip ahead two paragraphs. I wanted to briefly share the story of my first Broadway experience. Here goes: I'm a first-timer to New York. On a whim, I decided to join my brother on a business trip and take the opportunity to see the city. Having spent only about half a day sightseeing in Manhattan with him, I acted on another whim: why not go see a Broadway show? I was never that interested in them, but being such a big part of Times Square and the city's culture, I thought that if I had to pick one to go see, it would definitely be Back to the Future. From there, it didn't take much convincing for me to book a showing for the following day. I figured, "what the hell?" Sadly, I didn't manage to see the first 20 minutes of it. I'd gotten on the wrong subway train and ended up stranded in Flatbush, my phone nearly dead and without a way to charge it. Frustrated and frantic, I reached out to locals and asked for help. Thankfully, they were so kind & eagerly pointed me to the nearest Walgreens where I could buy a charger & cable and call myself an Uber; the entry to the next subway uptown was 15 minutes away. But even in an Uber, rush hour traffic meant I was going to be late to the show anyways, by 30 minutes. I spent the 45-minute trip worried that they wouldn't let me in. Thankfully, they did. I'd only missed the first 20 minutes, up to where Marty meets his father George in the diner. Despite the setback, I left the theatre that night truly touched and impressed. They deepened the characters I knew, amplifying their expressions and making the characters their own, giving me an experience that both lovingly referenced the original while remaining distinct enough to stand on its own. It wasn't just fresh, it was exciting, and surprisingly funny and powerfully emotional, especially in the third act. I'm so glad I got to enjoy this show, just in time."

"I love the three films and so was keen to see the musical when visiting New York, but wasn’t quite expecting how good the show turned out to be. The songs are great, the look and feel of the stage setting is superb and the special effects need to be seen to be believed. The stars of the show were fabulous and two hour show flew by. I would happily go back to the future to see the show again! "

"The way the story and characters are portrayed with respect to the original work and original music (including great new songs) is wonderful. The actors are fantastic but what is that car in the scene? He is the third protagonist. Tears came to my eyes in time travel. Incredible!"

"The show was superb from start to finish. The acting and singing were of a very high standard and reflected well, all the best elements of the various characters. If you like the film you will for certain enjoy the show. Some aspects were modified but nothing that undermined the continuity of the storyline. The special effects were fantastic; they were timely, gave great energy to the performance, and really made you feel part of the adventure. We went with our four and a half year old and despite it got a bit too noisy at times, he loved it. Five star show and performance! A big thank you to all those who contributed to make such a successful show."

"The show was brilliant (07/23), it was the last night of our holiday and it certainly went out with a bang. The storyline was easy to follow as someone who had no real knowledge of the film. The cast were great especially the mad scientist and the mayor. The set was ever changing and brilliantly put together. The orchestra were amazing, watching the director being able to conduct and play the keyboard at the same time shows a lot of talent. The theatre was easy to find, the seats comfortable, architecturally very pretty and even from fairly near the edge on the circle there was a pretty good view. There were only 2 downsides. 1- very minor was lack of refreshments- the bar queue was crazy long and you choose between refreshments or a toilet break. There could do with being another bar area/ snack stand. 2- lack of toilets, both queues for mens and women’s restrooms were long but as always the ladies queue meant you only just get back in time for the second half. Overall brilliant and would 100% recommend! "

"Some out of our group (ages ranging between 7 and 72) knew the movie by heart - like myself -, and others didn’t know it at all. All of us loved the musical with its hilarious actors and great atmosphere. It stayed true to the storyline, yet adding new details and slight variations, combining theatrical with cinematic elements, and integrating the original film’s score beautifully in its songs. The only downside were the costly tickets - but hey, that’s Broadway! "

"I fell in love with these movies since the first time I saw them as a little kid in the 80s and learning the films was being turned into a musical to say I was excited was an understatement! I was curious how it would turn out and let me tell you I was blown away! The cast is perfect and all my favourite lines are right where they should be. The timing the songs the set! I can’t wait to see it again! Must see hands down! 1.21 gigawatts of awesome!"

"Not much I didn’t like. My son actually had a conversation with us after the show about how he enjoyed it. He was worried it would be “cringy”. He’s not very educated on musicals. This was his first experience, and it was the PERFECT show to go to. "
