The Opening of Bernarda Alba
Based on the final play by the illustrious Spanish poet/playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, the new musical Bernarda Alba enjoyed its opening night bows at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on March 6. Written by composer Michael John LaChiusa (See What I Wanna See, Marie Christine, Hello Again) and directed by Graciela Daniele, the dramatic production features beloved original Rent-er, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad in it's nine-member, all-female cast.
