The complete Broadway cast of the highly anticipated new musical Billy Elliot came together on July 28 at the Little Shubert Theatre on West 42nd Street (where rehearsals are off and running in preparation for the show's November 13 opening) to meet the press for the first time since assembling in the Big Apple. In addition to talented newcomers David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish, who will rotate in the title role, Billy Elliot features original West End production alum Haydn Gwynne as Billy's dance teacher, Broadway veteran Gregory Jbara as the blue-collar dad with a distaste for dance, Carole Shelley asthe dotty, lovable grandmum, Santino Fontana as the disapproving older brother, and David Bologna and Frank Dolce alternating as our star's good-natured pal, Michael.
