Set amid India's bustling film industry, where numerous big-budget movie musicals are made each year, this triumphant new musical tells the story of a handsome young man who dreams of finding stardom and romance in a rich and exotic land. Bombay Dreams weaves together the glamour of the movies, heart-aching romance and epic spectacle to create an unforgettable evening of theater.Bombay Dreams features a pop-flavored score by India's number one composer, A R Rahman, and an energetic young cast of East Asian newcomers including lead Manu Narayan, who was hand-picked out of hundreds to star as young dreamer Akaash. American Idol finalist Tamyra Gray now appears opposite Narayan as Priya, a headstrong filmmaker who falls for a boy from the other side of the tracks.[IMG:R]When Bombay Dreams opened at the Broadway Theatre in April, 2004, Entertainment Weekly cheered, calling it "a good old fashioned Broadway musical with magic galore."
