John Stamos and Gina Gershon Put On a Happy Face at New Henry Miller's Theatre
Broadway’s got a whole slew of new shows getting ready to take over come the fall, but it also has a new theater as well: Roundabout Theatre Company’s Henry Miller's Theatre! The company cut the ribbon on the new space July 28, christening the first “green,” fully sustainable theatre on the Great White Way in the process. Roundabout had a little help with big debut, calling upon some very important members of its upcoming Bye Bye Birdie revival team to help them slice and dice the ceremonial ribbon at 124 West 43rd Street. John Stamos and Gina Gershon, who’ll star as Bye Bye Birdie’s Albert and Rose, were happy to lend a hand, grabbing the scissors and excitedly kicking off their new Broadway undertaking. Show creators Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, as well as director and choreographer Robert Longbottom were also on hand, thrilled that their musical will make history by being the first to set foot on the Henry Miller's stage.
