About Cabaret

Willkommen. Bienvenue. Welcome to the Kit Kat Club. Home to an intimate and electrifying new production of Cabaret. Experience this groundbreaking musical like never before.

The denizens of the Kit Kat Club have created a decadent sanctuary inside Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre, where artists and performers, misfits and outsiders rule the night. Step inside their world. This is Berlin. Relax. Loosen up. Be yourself.

London’s hottest ticket arrives on Broadway this Spring with Academy® and Tony Award® winner Eddie Redmayne reprising his Olivier Award-winning performance as the Emcee, and introducing Gayle Rankin as the Toast of Mayfair, Sally Bowles.

"First, I love Cabaret and was really excited to see this iteration. I was not disappointed! I loved the transformation of the August Wilson Theater and all the prologue entertainment. Go early and enjoy! The general staging of the show was well-done. There was a sinister, nightmarish quality to several scenes that was very effective. Eddie Redmayne was wonderful, as was Gayle Rankin. Just incredible. Bebe Neuwirth and Steven Skybell were outstanding as well. I felt the tempo of some of the songs was a little slower than what I’ve heard in the past (Don’t Tell Mama & Mein Herr) but this didn’t necessarily detract from the show. I loved it….definitely buy tickets and get over to the Kit Kat Club!!!"

"We enjoyed everything about the Kit Kat Club. It wasn’t a show, it was an experience. Although we had read the material, it was a little confusing when we arrived but once the pre-show performances began we realized we were already ‘hanging out’ in the seedy intriguing Kit Kat Club. Eddie Redmayne was amazing and the diverse sexuality of the fantastic entertainers added to the show. "

"Loved everything about Cabaret, especially the novel theater in the round experience. The producers spared no expense renovating the old theater to create the Kit Kat Club complete with cocktail table service down front. Although we were in the front Mezz, seats were great and show fabulous. Eddie Redmayne is amazing. Gale Ranskin was off but here understudy was great! Rave reviews all around!"

"Having seen Cabaret before on Broadway I found this production to be especially exciting . The theater in the round format added to the feeling of being part of the show . All of the cast were amazing but I will never forget Gayle Rankins second act performance "

"I would cut out 30 mins to 45 mins out of the show. It was long and slow. The first act was nearly 2 hours. The Gorilla scene has to go. Also the Caberet song needs to be shortened. We also bought wine that was terrible and not worth the price paid."

"Two shows in one . The costumes and songs entertain in the round stage led by Eddie Redmayne. Bebe Neuwirth dazzle as her story unfolds and must choose life over happiness in occupied Germany. Gayle Rankin brings life to the amazing tunes in this fantastic production."

"The set design was amazing - you really felt like you were in a Berlin cabaret circa late 1930’s. While the bawdiness and themes may be over the heads of children, this is decidedly a show for adults."

"The cast was great, they meshed together well, their voices came together well. The whole thing exceeded my expectations. The stage design and “set” was very minimalist, so don’t go in expecting Moulin Rouge level theatrics. Definitely worth it, though. And I’d recommend getting in an at least 40 minutes early as they have performances (interactive and quite up close) throughout the theater space beforehand."

"As a big theater fan, I truly enjoyed the theatrical aspects of the show. Adam Lambert was amazing the way that they transformed the theater was fantastic and I really did enjoy the show overall. I don’t know that I would recommend this is somebody who is in a big theater fan. It is long, it’s pretty dark and doesn’t flow in the traditional sense. I enjoyed it, but don’t need to rave for people to see it."

"The best thing about the Cabaret revival is Adam Lambert at der helm! Ensemble is terrific, staging/environment engaging and a delight to senses. The show captures the 1930s yet brings its ominous message forward to now. We loved the in the round approach and some very clever stage directions plus the great big numbers loved from the original. Some mis casting and dreadful lack of chemistry between Sally and her beau. Some incredibly timely themes. But Lambert is the Jewel in the crown. I could watch him read green eggs and ham and I'd be thrilled. The intimacy of the theater terrificly staged."

"The atmosphere of the show itself is more like a circus than the grungy Cabaret nightclub long-time fans are familiar with. Knowing the background of the show and source material I found the new interpretation lacking and the costumes took me out of the time period and were off putting. That being said the cast was excellent and the theater is beautiful. "
