Buzz is starting to build for
Cry-Baby, the second screen-to-stage transfer of a John Waters feature film. (Still going strong:
Hairspray, of course!) The new musical begins its pre-Broadway run at the La Jolla Playhouse on November 6, directed by Mark Brokaw and starring a gaggle of young and talented performers headed by James Snyder in the title role, first played in 1990 by future Sweeney Todd Johnny Depp. We met the cast and crew on September 20 at their New 42nd Street Studios rehearsal space to get a preview of
Cry-Baby before the gang heads west. Check it out!
