Jolly Grinch Opening Kicks Off Holiday Season
He may be "a mean one," but the Grinch and the Whos embraced the Christmas spirit on the November 8 opening night of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!. They'd already played a matinee, but the hard-working Grinch company, led by Patrick Page in the title role, was ready for action after its evening performance at the Hilton Theatre. As a special treat, actress and talk-show host Kelly Ripa read Dr. Seuss' original text to the crowd before the musical began. After the show, the throngs crossed 42nd Street to party at Madame Tussaud's. Little (and not-so-little) guests were greeted with bags of popcorn and took home Grinch-green goody bags. A good time was had by all!
