Story

A revolutionary story of passion, unstoppable ambition, and the dawn of a new nation.

Hamilton is the epic saga that follows the rise of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as he fights for honor, love, and a legacy that would shape the course of a nation. Based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography and set to a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education. Hamilton features book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. In addition to its 11 Tony Awards, it has won Grammy®, Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

The Wall Street Journal

"'Hamilton' is the most exciting and significant musical of the decade. Sensationally potent and theatrically vital, it is plugged straight into the wall socket of contemporary music. This show makes me feel hopeful for the future of musical theater."

Terry Teachout

The New York Times

"Historic. 'Hamilton' is brewing up a revolution. This is a show that aims impossibly high and hits its target. It's probably not possible to top the adrenaline rush."

"Being from Australia I really did not know much about Alexander Hamilton. The show really entertained, surprised and brought to tears. The songs were right on topic and the cast were exceptionally talented to bring the story to life. The role of Eliza was so emotional and the voice so wonderful - the singing gave me goose pimples. Hamilton allows you to feel and really become swept away with the story. It was thoroughly entertaining and I felt that there were no weak links in the cast. I am so glad we chose to see this show as the first and only Broadway show that we have seen"

"Wow, wow, WOW. I’ve been watching this play on tv for five years, and seeing it in person added a whole new layer to it for me. Everyone is so hardworking and tells the story so well, their body language perfectly matches the scenes and their tones of voice. It’s such a well told story that really hits you in the feels. Dear Theodosia and It’s Quiet Uptown really strike you in the heart because of how well written and preformed they are. It’s truly an experience i’ll never forget. This is the most well written show i’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing— I don’t know what would ever top it. Everyone was so passionate too, you could just tell. The positive energy was palpable, making the show just all the more enjoyable and immersive. If you’re looking for a play to see, especially if you’re a history, HAMILTON ALL THE WAY!!"

"I loved it! It was such a great show! The actors were amazing. Sometimes funny. The music was fabulous. The dancing was great . It was crazy how almost all of it was done singing! The way that contemporary culture —rap music and dance choreography — was fused with the culture of 2 centuries ago was creative and profound. I even loved the set; its simplicity provided detail. The history was correct and not exaggerated, and the show as a whole was overall great 👍 Our 12 year old grandson equally loved it. "
