Story

Hamlet, one of the indisputable masterpieces of literature, follows Hamlet, prince of Denmark, who is consumed with grief after his father’s death. He soon discovers the truth about his father’s murder and then plots to exact revenge on his uncle, who is responsible for the deed and also marries Hamlet’s mother, the queen, taking the throne in the process. Shakespeare’s powerful tragedy holds a “mirror up to nature” and explores wide-ranging themes such as deceit, madness, revenge, death and moral corruption. In addition to the famous revenge plot, there is also the lingering threat of war from Denmark’s neighbor

The New York Times

""Jude Law approaches Hamlet with focus, determination and the adrenaline level of an Olympic competitor. He fills the theater to the saturation point. This is one production in which you feel the heat of the energy from the stage.""

USA Today

""Excellence, thy name is Hamlet on the Broadway stage.""

USA Today

Elysa Gardner

""Jude Law gives a spine-tingling and richly layered performance in Hamlet. He holds you rapt. What sets this interpretation apart isn’t just Law’s performance, but Michael Grandage’s excellent direction. Grandage’s Hamlet is lean, focused and electrifying, with fresh coats of inspiration.""
