Joe Brooks, who won an Oscar and a Grammy for the hit pop song "You Light Up My Life" (and wrote a zillion commercial jingles), is ready to try his hand on Broadway. In My Life--the story of an unlikely romance between a musician with Tourette's and an obsessive compulsive journalist--starts performances at the Music Box Theatre on September 27, with an opening set for October 20. Brooks and cast members Jessica Boevers, Christopher J. Hanke, Roberta Gumbel and Chiara Navarra performed for a small audience at the Four Seasons restaurant on July 28.
