Cheers for the Opening of Arthur Miller's Compelling Incident

A theater legend’s work made its way back to the New York stage on March 16, as Arthur Miller’s rarely produced, fascinating play Incident at Vichy had its off-Broadway opening at the Samuel Beckett Theatre Last produced in the city at Lincoln Center in 1964, the show is a stark, suspenseful look at the Holocaust as experienced by 10 men detained for questionable reasons during the German occupation of France in 1942. More thriller than history lesson, the show is presented by The Actors Company Theatre, which works to rediscover and present deserving plays that have been forgotten or eclipsed in recent years—though this is one you won’t easily forget. After opening night bows, the cast, creatives and their numerous supporters gathered together to celebrate their big night, as well as the return of another Miller classic.
