A week after Liza Minnelli's return to Broadway was announced, the legend herself gave the press a sneak peek of the upcoming song-and-dance extravaganza at Chelsea Studios on October 24. Titled Liza's at the Palace..., the new show will come in two parts. The first act features Liza being Liza, singing all her hits (and then some). The second act will be a tribute to Kay Thompson, Liza’s godmother, best known for her performance in the movie Funny Face and as the author of the popular Eloise children’s books. Most enticingly, the two rules Liza’s adamantly enforced throughout her career—talking about her personal life onstage and singing her mother’s music—will be broken.
