An emotional crowd cheered the first Broadway performance of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart, which began a lightning-fast eight days of previews at the Golden Theatre on April 19. In the house was David Furnish, president of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the pop superstar’s longtime partner, as well as the widow and son of Brad Davis, the blazing original star of the play's 1985 off-Broadway premiere.
