Reasons to be Pretty has had several reasons to smile lately, specifically Tony Award nominations for Best New Play (for playwright Neil LaBute), Best Leading Actor (Thomas Sadoski) and Best Actress (Marin Ireland), all making their Broadway debut. The icing on the cake this week, however, was a visit from a seasoned LaBute actor and very familiar face—film star Paul Rudd. Rudd, himself a Broadway veteran best known recent for films like
Knocked Up and
I Love You Man, had a special reason to see
Reasons: he starred in
The Shape of Things, LaBute’s first play in a trilogy addressing America’s obsession with beauty. (
Reasons is the final installment.) We were there to snap a few shots of the
Pretty cast and their guestbackstage at the Lyceum Theatre on May 12. Click here to check out Rudd and company!
