Story

Redwood is a transportive new musical about one woman’s journey into the precious and precarious world of the redwood forest. Jesse is a successful businesswoman, mother and wife who seems to have it all, but inside, her heart is broken. Finding herself at a turning point, Jesse leaves everyone and everything behind, gets in her car and drives... Thousands of miles later, she hits the majestic forests of Northern California, where a chance meeting and a leap of faith change her life forever. With its deeply personal story, refreshingly contemporary sound, and awe-inspiring design, Redwood explores the lengths –and heights– one travels to find strength, resilience and healing.

Who Needs Therapy? Just bring a tissue.

"The cast was so talented and the roles they played suited them perfectly. …and did I mention those voices! Wow! Hard to pick who I liked best; they were all THAT good! The story line starts out a bit chaotic and in pieces, like a puzzle, but it slowly all comes together in the end to form one beautiful picture that everyone can relate to on some level. Makes you want to run out and hug a tree! Loved it! "

The songs were outstanding! Quite a moving experience. Redwood entertains and shows us all an important lesson that we get more life when we grieve. The power of the redwood trees shows us the power of resilience through our connections and demonstrates how our storytelling about grief can transform ourselves with new life options. This is all done through a musical ! Wow! The musical is such a special way to communicate about how we can respond to loss. Redwood delivers a mighty tall message !"

To Tree Climbing
