Phenomenal show!
"Romeo & Juliet was a phenomenal show. Circle in the square was the perfect theatre for it and it was directed and produced wonderfully. The cast did an amazing job at getting the audience to understand the story and every one of them should be extremely proud of the work they did. "

"I had never seen that much talent and experience before. Everything about R + J was magical from the actors’ performance to the music, lights and staging. The wonderfullness of this show made me wanna stare at a wall for the rest of my existence. Every single person that worked on it was amazing at their job and it showed."

Yes! Go see this!
"I love Kit Connor so much! He was amazing as Romeo! He is why I went to see it, but ended up loving the whole cast. This version was playful and fun and funny and celebrated diversity. I honestly believe they played with more with the youth and stupidity of Romeo than I have ever seen. "

A special night at the theatre!
"I have come back again because this is a unique theatre event! The theatre itself provides the audience with an almost interactive experience with the actors moving up and down the aisles and even overhead. The cast are all outstanding and deliver the message that this is a play about the lives of young people, no matter the era. The music truly enhances the show and when Rachel Zegler sings Man of the House the audience is deeply moved. She and Kit Connor are the best couple that I have ever seen in these roles! They are so talented and their chemistry is real. But, above all, Kit Connor drives the show with his energy and artistry! He delivers the lines as if they were everyday speech as well as beautiful poetry. I would see this show again. If only live theatre could be relived! "

Wonderful experience
"Very playful and entertaining and an incredible performance of all actors. Especially Kit Connor who played a briljant Romeo. Shakespeare would have been proud. Also, the theater made it all very intimate that added to the experience. Glad I flew in from Europe to see this! "

Some great performances. Second half had some glitches.
"Kit Connor did a beautiful job playing Romeo in this modern Romeo and Juliet. Some Shakespearean elements were preserved - the language, theater-in-the-round staging, setting, characters (including female characters played by men, though the reverse also occurred) and storyline were original. Innovations included lots of teddy bears, a few songs, modern clothing, and a hanging bed rather than a balcony. The second half had some pacing issues, exacerbated by what appeared to be some missed lines and a late entrance by an understudy. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable performance with lots of physicality and a cohesive cast."

See it before it’s gone
"This production is a fantastic, fresh interpretation on a Shakespearean classic as well as an incredible piece of theatre in its own right. In addition to how well the text itself is delivered, I really enjoyed all of the original music. Besides the two leads, who are both remarkable in these roles, the entire cast is very strong. The creative team behind it has also worked to create a very cohesive and engaging staging that is visually stunning from start to finish. Being done in the round, the show uses the entire theatre to its advantage and there are truly no bad seats. This production very much belongs to GenZ, in a way that is both celebratory of the generation and that provides a powerful commentary on the unique struggles of today that youth face - including the relentless power of emotion, and the senselessness of violence. I feel very grateful to have seen this production, and would encourage anyone to go see it before it closes. "

A joyful Saturday evening!
"There were high hopes before attending Romeo and Juliet and the play did not disappoint. The setting of the play allowed for the audience to be more engaged. The energy of the cast was palpable and they seemed to be having fun. The adult humor thrown in was in good taste and laughable; although young children may not be appropriate. The singing and music was full of life. The acting superb. Kit Connor made you feel the character of Romeo and his body language and what he emotes translated to feeling the emotion. Both Kit and Rachel were star quality and a great chemistry and they are both budding stars at such young ages. It was worth the wait an worth the price for the tickets to be near the front row. "

Romeo is amazing!
"The 1st half of the show is a complete party, its fun and its happy and hopeful and funny, the 2nd part its all tragedy and confusión and worry ,Rachel is ver good buy Kit Connor takes the play to another level, he is the intensity in the play, all the actors do a great job, but all the feelings come from and because of him."

A must see!
"I absolutely loved this play. All the actors were brilliant - the movement around the whole theatre was terrific and the interaction with some members of the audience was fun to watch. Kit Connor was breath taking - his take on the role of Romeo was so well done. And he’s only 20! Would love to go again."

Phenomenal casting choices
"Romeo + Juliet was so good. All of the actors were phenomenal. Two stand outs for me were Gabby Beans and Sola Fadiran. Every time they were on stage they had the audience in their grasp. Everyone was paying attention and in awe of their performances. In the scene were Fadiran is playing Juliet’s father, Capulet, and is yelling at her as to why she is to marry Paris, you could feel the whole theater go stiff and hold their breaths. It was such an intense scene and he played it amazingly. Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler were both obviously phenomenal as well in their roles as Romeo and Juliet. Connor really brought out the lover boy and intensity that is Romeo and he did it so stunningly. He really thrives on a stage and had the whole audience engaged with him. Zegler was spectacular. She really brought out the strength in Juliet and made her shine even more. Her voice is stunning in the songs she sings and needs to be singing live and in theaters more often. The fight scenes were so beautifully choreographed and were some of my favorite parts of the whole show. Over all such an amazing experience and Sam Gold brought such a fresh take to such a classic play. 10/10 I would watch it a thousand times again. "

Gen Z broke into the theater
"When Kit and Rachel are on stage, you do not see Kit or Rachel, you see Romeo and Juliet. From the moment you sit down, and some of the cast starts to come out, you can tell that this is not a normal production of R+J. The interactions between cast members from the getgo instill the dynamics you'll see throughout the production. I felt my life alter when the cast was all dancing on the stage and then the music cuts and Gabby announces that the show is starting. Gian is actually so hilarious with his Gift from God shirt, vaping, head nods, and theatrics. Gian is also just such a good singer. I want to see him as a lead in something in the future. Gabby was INCREDIBLE as Friar Lawrence and Mercutio. Her comedic timing is impeccable. Also want to see her in more productions. As a girly in Gen Z, this production felt like it was made for me. The most modern day version of this classic play. Okay lastly, I need Jack Antonoff to release Whiplash and Best Lie on streaming because it would go #1 in my apartment. If I could see this play again and again, I would! "

Worth every single penny spent
"As someone who has been a fan of these actors for years I can't even begin to explain how special this show was. I've ridden roller coasters that haven't given me as much of an adrenaline rush as this show did. The music was beautiful, however, unexpected. Sam Golds rendition of Romeo and Juliet really makes you see the entire play in an entirely new and fun way. Rachel Zegler does an amazing job of playing Juliet in a way that shows just how young she was. Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler showcase just how desperately lustful Romeo and Juliet really were. The way that these actors are skilled enough in their field to portray multiple characters is astounding. Each and every one of these actors are the backbone of this entire play. Including the understudies. You can tell as soon as you enter the theater that this show is going to be unlike anything you've ever seen before. I feel so incredibly blessed that I was able to watch these amazing actors pour their hearts out on stage."

Romeo and Juliet - A Must-See
"I was most impressed by the actors and their command of the text and delivery. The mix of humor and seriousness was well-balanced. I enjoyed the playfulness among the cast prior to the opening of the show. This is a great show with a cast of excellent actors!!! If you are in, or going to New York, be sure to include this show in your list of things-to-do."

A creative modern spin on a classic
"Loved the intimacy of the theater. Honestly I didn’t know what to expect because my daughter’s picked the show and I didn’t read up on it beforehand. Every single actor impressed me immensely. The talent was oozing in every scene. I found myself laughing and then moments after, tearing up. The modern creative spin on a classic is genius. Bravo! "

A New Take on a Classic
"I didn’t know what to expect especially when I got to the theatre and there were stuffed animals and emo- like people dancing on the stage to pretty cool music. It was a contemporary take on a classic, and with that, no more spoilers. "
