Off-Broadway's Spelling Bee Gets High Marks
Ah, the sweet spell of success! The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin) is just that--a success with both critics and audiences. The company of the show, which is playing at off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre, was all smiles at the opening night fete on February 7. In the spirit of a school spelling bee, the party was held at nearby Holy Cross School's gym. Was it life imitating art or vice-versa?
