Spelling Bee Cast Meets the New Scripps National Champ
On Saturday, July 22, the Broadway cast of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee had the honor of meeting the new Scripps National Spelling Bee champion, Kerry Close. The 13-year-old from Spring Lake, New Jersey,—who won the title just last month, when, in the 20th round, Close correctly spelled the word "urspache"—was all smiles when she posed with the cast for our camera after the matinee.
