The roster of talent that Oprah Winfrey and her producing partners keep bringing into
The Color Purple on Broadway just keeps getting more and more amazing. With
American Idol fave LaKisha Jones having started just before Christmas as
The Color Purple's new Church Soloist, on January 9 the production also welcomed a batch of fresh talent in three major roles in the musical of Alice Walker's American classic: Grammy-winning R&B superstars Chaka Khan and Bebe Winans as Sofia and Harpo, respectively, and in the central role of Celie, Broadway debut-er Zonya Love. Among the throng of their first night well-wishers was Oprah herself! Naturally, we wouldn't have missed it for the world. Click on for a glimpse of the "opening night" reception.
