Way before Teri Hatcher reigned as one of the world's favorite Desperate Housewives, she was a mermaid. Yup, the former San Francisco 49ers cheerleader-turned-Golden Globe-winning television star got her first break in Hollywood in 1985 when she was cast in a guest spot as a singing-dancing mermaid on The Love Boat. With that fun fact in mind, we were only too happy to snap a few pictures of Hatcher backstage at The Little Mermaid on November 8, who had taken her daughter Emerson to the new Broadway musical to celebrate her 10th birthday. Happy Birthday, Em! (And make mom tell you about the time she sang, danced and flipped her tail.)
