We took our teen daughter, whom in 6th and again in 7th grade read, "The Outsiders" in academic classes. She was familiar with the story and characters, but was given a new outlook to the story based on the direction of this show. "I never saw the movie but the buzz on the street about the show peaked my curiosity. My nieces had seen the movie and loved it. It was amazing. So deep and thoughtful. The songs were perfect for every aspect of the show. The voices were stunning and the harmonies were out of this world. The audience ranged from 18 to 75. "This story has been around for a while but I think it more powerful as a Broadway play. You see the clash between the "haves" and the "have nots", the painful struggle ( including death ) that ensues and the minor inroads toward equality being made.
The voices were excellent if not typical Broadway. In addition to singing, the actors were, in fact, able to act.
