Longest-running show on Broadway? That’s old news for the cast of The Phantom of the Opera, which broke the record previously held by Cats three years ago. Now the still-frisky Phantom has reached an even more impressive milestone: On January 26, it became the first show in history to celebrate its 21st birthday on the Great White Way. After the musical’s 8,732nd performance (but who’s counting?), the company celebrated onstage at the Majestic Theatre and raised their glasses to the masked man’s next 21 years.
