The Toxic Avenger officially opened at New World Stages on April 6. A musical adaptation of the cult movie from 1984, it tells the tale of an incurable nerd from the fictitious Tromaville, New Jersey, who gets tossed into a vat of radioactive waste by a politician's flunkies - only to emerge as Toxie, a green mutant with superhuman strength! Featuring a score written by David Bryan, a founding member of Bon Jovi, and Joe Dipietro, who also wrote the book, the cheeky production was reanimated by John Rando, the Tony Award-winning director of
