For playwright Jonathan Marc Sherman, the opening of
Things We Want was a homecoming of sorts. Artistically buoyed by longtime friends Ethan Hawke (as
Things' director) and Josh Hamilton (as one of it four stars), Sherman's first full-length work in nearly a decade saw the opening night lights on November 7, courtesy of The New Group in residence at the Acorn Theatre on West 42nd Street. The cast of Sherman's dark comedy (about the relationships between three brothers living together in their deceased parents Manhattan apartment) features indie film stars Paul Dano (
Little Miss Sunshine) and Peter Dinklage (
The Station Agent), with rising stage actress Zoe Kazan (
