What better way to celebrate Halloween than painting your face green and hanging out with a bunch of talented witches? There were many green gals (pink, too) outside the Gershwin Theatre on October 30 to rejoice at the Wicked Day Block Party. The block party celebrates more than All Hallow's Eve; it is also the anniversary of the show's official opening on Broadway (October 30, 2003). The event featured a "Be Wicked" singing contest, sponsored by Z100. The judges for the contest were star Megan Hilty (unfortunately co-star Shoshana Bean was sick), casting director extraordinaire Bernard Telsey, Miss U.S.A. Chelsea Cooley and Def Jam recording star Rihanna. Of course, the party also included games, goodies, green manicures, costumes galore and lots of imagination.
