Who needs to cram into a crowded Times Square record store when you've got the lobby of the cavernous Gershwin Theatre?! That's precisely the spot where thousands of Wicked fans lined up to get the acclaimed new Decca Broadway original cast album of the show signed by the stars of the show (and its legendary composer Stephen Schwartz) on December 19. One of the leading ladies, Kristin Chenoweth, was a no-show, but the event was still a rousing success. Some early indicators even suggested that the Wicked CD sold better in its first week than recent Broadway recording smashes like Hairspray and The Producers. Talk about wicked!
