Morning, noon and night—October 28 was indeed the Day of Wicked. That Sunday morning, we went up to Harlem and watched Wicked's new Glinda (Annaleigh Ashford) and Elphaba (standby Lisa Brescia filling in for the honeymooning Stephanie J. Block) sing several numbers in the Wicked Day ceremony that helped Bette Midler launch the re-greened Friendship Garden, before the pair proceeded back to the Gershwin Theatre to play the official 4th anniversary performance of the mega-hit musical. Following the show, we joined Ashford and Brescia once more (plus a gaggle of denizens of Oz) as they trotted on over to the Time Hotel's snazzy Serafina restaurant on Sunday, October 28, for a little post-show celebration. Check it out.
