Zooman and the Sign Makes a Welcome Off-Broadway Return

The play is almost 30 years old, but there’s nothing dated about Zooman and the Sign, Charles Fuller’s now-classic 1980 drama about a child’s murder and the aftermath of the crime on the neighborhood that turned its back on identifying her killer. A new production opened off-Broadway on March 24 at Signature Theatre Company, which is devoting its season to a celebration of the best of the Negro Ensemble Company.
