About The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.

"I really enjoyed this musical. I would not recommend if deeply religious as it could be perceived as blasphemy . The language and sexual innuendoes may not be suitable for young children. "

"I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew the writers were the guys from South Park. It had to be funny, right! It was beyond funny. If you take yourself too seriously, this show isn't for you. If you can laugh at things and not get offended, go check out the show!"

"The musical was good; however, it was fairly vulgar. We enjoyed the parts where the morons were on screen but when they were in Uganda, it was extremely vulgar. We had a teen with us and she thought it was too much for her and unfortunately we left at the second half. It’s our fault that we should have read the reviews before we went but we had heard really good things about the show and had wanted to see it. "

"I know Trey Parker and Matt Stone have a no holds bar attitude when it comes to comedy but the one part that really bothered me was the part about having sex with a baby, THAT WASN'T NECESSARY. They crossed the line. I'm not a prude by any means but when it comes to children, they are sacred, rape of a child or anyone is funny. I totally enjoyed the rest of the show, even parts that made me cringe. The baby part made me angry."

"Sexual provocation and vulgar language taken to the extreme (intentionally) is apparently what is so “funny” about this show. Not funny. It’s too over the top. "
