True to its source.

"The story ends the same as the Greek myths. Which is uncommon. It is a story of strong characters. The audience should approach the show as a jazz concert overlaying a story out of a Greek myth tragedy. The use of a turntable lift on stage enabled the actors to deliver their songs while in motion, something movie musicals do, while still center stage."

Thought provoking and entertaining.

"We took our daughter and her fiancée for a birthday celebration. Although we knew how the story would end, the ending was still a surprise. The cast was excellent with a couple of very strong voices. The staging was exceptional and you won't see anything like it at your local theatre. "

Very good cast performance!

"There are some sequences depicting journey into another world - those are absolutely awesome! The climax part really drags on, could've used some sharper writing. Still the first 80% of the show more than makes up for it"

Powerful show

"The music and production was amazing. The story was literally a Greek tragedy and had me crying more than once but I would definitely go back and see it again. Every member of the cast was wonderful and the singers were phenomenal! The songs have also been stuck in my head for days now and I'm not complaining. The only slight issue I had was that the music, at times, was louder than the singers and I didn't hear some of the words but I figured it out and really didn't mind overall. Please see it if you get the chance. "

Greatest Cast In Broadway History

"If I could give this show 11/10 stars then I would! This cast is some of the most talented and kind hearted human beings in all of Broadway history! Especially Maia Reficco, who took a few minutes to say hello to me today. She really made my day, perhaps even my whole year! I’d recommend everyone buy tickets to see her and Jordan Fisher in “Hadestown” ASAP! "

Good Show, First Half Confusing..

"Overall, this was a wonderful performance. The cast were very talented and we enjoyed the singing and dancing. Knowing the original Greek myth, we were a bit confused with Orpheus and Eurydice’s meeting in the first half. Was that a diner? We really wished the writer would have started the story with them already engaged. The second half was much more familiar and enjoyable."

I enjoyed it more than my wife

"I think the key was that I knew the story better before it started. My wife was trying to follow the nuances of the story and could not enjoy the performances as much. Maybe do a bit of research before you go so you can focus on the talented cast. We had the understudy for Orpheus. I cannot say I liked his voice as much as the others."

"A great rendition of the tale or Orpheus and Eurydice. If you do not know much about Greek mythology I recommend brushing up a bit. However, if you read through the playbill beforehand they do a great job at setting the scene. "
