About JOB

Following two extended, sold-out downtown engagements, Max Wolf Friedlich’s play JOB is now this summer’s “chic, relentless Broadway thriller. JOB is extremely effective, often funny, with excellent performances.” – The New York Times

After being placed on leave following a viral incident, Jane would do anything to return to her Big Tech–company job. But as the therapist who needs to authorize it, Loyd suspects her work might be doing more harm than good.

Starring Tony Award® nominee Peter Friedman (Ragtime, Succession) and Sydney Lemmon (Tár, Fear the Walking Dead), “JOB is very provocative, stimulating, and daring—you won’t be bored for a millisecond” (Chicago Tribune). Don’t miss this “electrifying” (Variety), strictly limited engagement, now extended on Broadway through October 27.

"I had a free night by myself in Manhattan and went looking for plays. Found a ticket to this one for $85. Its plot. - a social media content moderator mentally stressed by the horrible content she had to look at every day - was timely and socially relevant. So I bought a seat in the very last row. When I got there, I realized that the smaller size of the Hayes Theater meant that my seat was still an excellent one with a spectacular view. The play is extremely well done and has a surprise twist that left the audience gasping. Most definitely recommend it as a must see. You will get your money’s worth, and you will come away with a more thoughtful view about social media’s impact on our society. "

"Masterful acting, interesting direction, arresting material. We were riveted. You could hear a pin drop for the entire 90 minutes...except when we were laughing. Serious material - not for kids."

"A simple set and 2 actors. Job has you on the edge of your seat from the moment the lights come up until the end. We talked about it for 2 days, wishing we had purchased the script to accurately remember the amazing conversation between the 2 characters. We agreed we want to see it again now that we know the end. "

"The intensity of the dialogue grabbed me from the opening minute. The writing and sound effects/lighting allows one to follow Jane into the dark recesses, the twists and turns, of her mind. What technique or what words will Loyd use to help her out of her turmoil? Or is there a way out? Hang on…."

"Walked into this without really knowing anything about the play except that it was a drama. There were moments of comedy to help ease the depth of heart/soul breaking issues presented. The acting, in my opinion, was phenomenal! I would not bring children younger than 16 years of age to this due to adult level issues discussed."
