About Left on Tenth

Left on Tenth is a true story about love, hope, and the wonder of second chances. When she least expects it, Delia Ephron, best-selling novelist and screenwriter of You've Got Mail, makes a surprising connection with a man from her past and falls into her own romantic comedy. As their immediate spark blossoms into a love story that seems to defy all odds, Delia’s life takes an unexpected turn. Left on Tenth tells the messy, beautiful truth about getting older while feeling young, as it celebrates two people with the courage to rewrite their futures and open their hearts again.

Relatable yet a good surprise
"You don’t find to many adult shows on broadway with quality acting by actors you know. It had all the elements that make you sad to feel real good. And at no time did it drag or lose our attention. Wonderful night out with family! "

A beautiful love story
"Left on Tenth kept us on the edge of our seats from start to finish. Through the ups and downs, tears and laughter, one could not guess the end of the story. Beautifully written and executed. Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher were wonderful. "

A masterclass of the art of acting
"I was in the city on my own for a few days and looked for a show to see at short notice and came across Left on Tenth which caught my attention. Being from London I knew Julianna Margulies from ER and the Good Wife and was interested to see her live and I wasn't disappointed. Her opening monologue was just stunning especially the way she involved the audience with ease. I can imagine her practicing it in front of her mirror at home. The show was both funny and poignant, a mixture that delivered an amazing evening. The show is 100 minutes long with no intermission so go before you sit! Although it started at 8 there were still a few latecomers which surprised me a little. The only downside is that I was in the back row downstairs and being on street level it was very cold until the curtains closed and the performance started. The ushers worked very hard to get everyone to their seats quickly. After the performance the actors stopped to briefly chat as they made their way out of the stage door to their transport. Julianna was very approachable and friendly (I even got a selfie) sometimes if you are lucky enough to meet someone you admire it can be disappointing but definitely not in this case."

Even my husband loved it!
"We are lucky to visit NYC often. I love Broadway musicals and my husband kind of tolerates them. So on our Xmas trip here I was so happy to find a fun nonmusical we could go to. This play was delightful and you will laugh a lot and even shed a few tears. We waited at the stage door after the show and we got to meet Julianne Marguiles and Peter Gallagher (yes, he is even more handsome in person). They were both very kind and gracious. Don’t miss this one!"

Funny and heartbreaking
"The actors did an amazing job conveying the humor and devastation that happens in life….love, death, illness….I don’t know how they do it day after day….so emotionally draining!! The entire cast was amazing!!"

Great emotional production
"Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher are terrific in this gut wrenching yet warm play. We were so pleasantly surprised at how good it is after seeing the lukewarm NYTimes review ——a must see!!"

Laughter and tears
"The show was simply a delight. A romance with complications that led to a happy end. The actors fully inhabited their roles and had me feel their joy and despair, and make me laugh out loud and brought me to tears. I appreciated the happy end."

I’m a huge Nora/ Delia Ephron fan…
"I read the book a while ago- and the show is based on the book which is a true story about something amazing that happened to Delia. The show was adorable and cheeky is that very “Ephron” way, and I thought they did a great job capturing the essence of the book in the screenplay. Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher are PERFECT!!! "

Didn’t disappoint!
"Read the book and was curious how it could be staged. Seemingly simple set changes did not distract from content. Actors were great. 👍 "

It’s a story about finding love but not a romantic comedy.
"As long as you know that this is not a romantic comedy, you should love it. I found the play to be better than I expected. It’s simple, just a hand full of actors that do a great job. I was hanging on every word. Powerful moments during the play will tug on your heartstrings."

“Minnesota -Nice “ Review
"The set design was beautifully done as were the technical enhancements. My wife and I both enjoyed the expert acting, but thought too much of it felt like we were being read to from a book. "

"It was an amazing set design and the supporting cast was so incredible! Tough storyline (as I’m a cancer survivor), but beautifully acted! "

Seeing Two Favorite Stars
"Loved the book, so I wanted to see the play. To my surprise I found the co-stars as delightful as the Stars. I really wanted to Julianna Margollies on live stage as well as Peter Gallagher. The play is well crafted and the actors were wonderful. It’s a great small theatre experience. One caveat. The balcony seats are very tight. Not comfortable for anyone who might need knee space."

An intimate experience
"Cleverly staged with an excellent cast, this compelling story cuts pretty close to the bone for those of us who have lived through similar life experiences. It feels very real, sad but hopeful."

Very Good to Excellent
"My husband loved it. I thought it was pretty good. The first part is excellent. The hospital scenes were good but went on too long. The two other actors were incredible with all their roles. MM was excellent and PG was good but a bit tired/old school (which may have been the point?)!!"
